Alyssa Mercante is a freelance tech, media, and internet culture journalist based in Brooklyn, NY. She specializes in unpacking the cultural connections between the digital world and IRL, highlighting marginalized communities within online spaces, and weaving thought-provoking on modern media. 

Prior to her work as a freelancer, Alyssa was the senior editor of Kotaku, editor at GamesRadar, and associate editor at Ceros. 

She is a Twitch Affiliate, member of the New York Video Game Critic's Circle, and a She Plays Games 100 women in gaming honoree.
